This year we are participating in Operation Christmas Child for our first time. We planned to each pick a gender and age range and each shop for and pack a shoebox. Things didn't quite work out that way. Kylee and I ended up doing the shopping, while Cody and Clancy helped pack the boxes. I couldn't believe how much we were able to purchase with the budget we had established. We could barely fit it all in the boxes!
I found these nifty fill-in-the-blank letters to pack with our shoeboxes. They tell about the kids and where we live. They are kind of hidden on the OCC website, but an old blog post I came across yesterday had a link to it. Just follow this link and click on the link to download the "graphic files". The "Coloring Page" is the one we used. Kylee had a lot of fun filling it out. And Clancy had a lot of fun bugging his sister and "coloring" on his.
And here is a pic of our packed up Shoeboxes. Kylee has really enjoyed and already learned alot from this experience. I'm sure we will be doing this for many years to come. We are hoping that one of recipients will write us a letter back! There is still time to pack your shoebox. This week (Nov 15-22) is National Collection Week.
