1st Grade Bento #42 - Polar Express Bento

Today, Kylee got to wear her PJ's to school for Polar Express day.  They will get to watch the movie, read the book, test on the book, and just hang out in their PJ's all day.  So, I thought I would make a Polar Express bento to go with it.  I got in super late last night from an awesome Girls Night with all the ladies from our church, so I put this together this morning.  I think Im getting better at morning bentos!  But I dont want to make it a habit!

1st Grade Bento #24 and Picture Day

I forgot to take a picture of this new box I found at the Sanrio store in San Antonio this weekend. Kylee loved it. It is Hello Kitty and has a fork/spoon holder in the lid. They had lots of bento boxes, but they were kind of expensive.

And today was picture day! Kylee actually ASKED to go to the mall yesterday after her doctors appointment to get a new outfit for picture day. Well she HATES shopping and I have NEVER had her ASK to go shopping or get new clothes, so of course I had to take her! I wanted her to get some color since this is the headshot picture, but she was stuck on this outfit that she picked out the pieces to. I thought she was adorable! It was kinda dark this am. Hopefully I can get a photo shoot out of her in it some other time.

Fire Prevention Poster

Strep has been running wild through our household.  I think I was hit the longest, but the hubs was hit the hardest.  He was finally feeling a little better last night, so he helped Freddi with her Fire Prevention Poster.  I was so proud of the idea she came up with.  And she is quite the artist!

Open House at Bubby's School

Last week we went to Open House at Bubby's school.  We got to hear from the Director about some new things happening and then we got to go to his room and talk with his teachers.  He loved showing off his artwork.  It was so sweet!

Our Labor Day

We had a nice weekend, cleaning out and organizing more around the house.  It was nice, not to have to leave my house Saturday.  Sunday morning I taught my first Sunday School class and it went great.  Then came Labor Day.  As soon as Clancy woke up Monday, Cody insisted that I take him to the dr to make sure he didn't have an ear infection or something.  He has been suffering from horrible allergies the last couple of weeks and just been extra fussy.  We had to rush to get to the appointment since we live 30 miles away and the only appt I could get was in an hour.  As we turned off the highway to turn into the clinic, I hear him doing his usually cough/gag.  And then it comes.  Vomit EVERYWHERE.  And guess who didnt have an extra set of clothes/blanket ANYTHING with me?  Yeh. Lovely.  It was exactly 5 minutes before our appointment time.  I didn't know what to do.  So, of course, I called my Mommy! :)  She says, clean him up and take him in and ask for a gown.  I did, felt really weird carrying him past everyone in the waiting room in only a diaper, and they gave me a gown for him.  The dr figured the vomiting episode was just from the coughing and he changed his allergy medicine.  Hopefully it will make a difference.  When we got back out to the truck (I had just sat his car seat in the bed of the pickup), luckily I had Kylee's convertible booster seat that still has the 5 point harness hooked up.  My Mom was at work at HEB down the street was was able to buy a shirt for him.  So I stuck it on him and headed in to WalMart for shorts.  We were already in Temple and I needed to grocery shop and pick up Freddi, so I hated to drive all the way home and come back.  Anyways.  It all worked out.  Kids do some embarrassing things sometimes, but we get through it. ;)  I meant to take an updated blackeye picture for you all.  Its looking better!  Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!  Oh, and I almost forgot, Kylee made a 100 on her very first Spelling Test!  I am SO proud of her!

1st Grade Bento #8 - Lunchables! and an update

Kylee wanted a lunchable for lunch today.  I REALLY need to go to the grocery store, so this was about all we had.  I had zero fruit :(.

We are headed to Lifeway and Hobby Lobby this evening after work to prepare for my first Sunday School class as a teacher!  Im so excited!  So I packed Clancy this "negative" bento to tide him over until we got home for supper tonite.

Meet the Teacher

I can't believe my baby girl is going to 1st grade!  Last night we went to Meet the Teacher.  She was so excited.  She loved that her teacher has a Zebra print door!

Kylee didn't want to leave school last night.  She just wanted to stay in her class!  I hope this attitude continues all year!!  I am very excited for her and know that she will have a great year!

Kylee's Last Day of Kindergarten :(

Kylee last day of Kindergarten was Thursday.  She had the most wonderful teacher.  I know she will miss her next year.  The hubs was sweet enough to go in and take pics that morning!  I can't believe she is officially a 1st Grader!

Bento #45 - Last Kindergarten Bento :(

Ok, so thank goodness I was wrong!  They are eating lunch at school tomorrow on their last day!!  So I got a "re do" of her last day of school bento!! YAY!!  This Bento started out as a "shapes" bento but ended up as a "heart" bento.  She has Ham and Mustard Faux Sushi Kabobs, Cheese Hearts, Tomatoes, Strawberry Heart Kabobs, Chocolate Pudding with Heart Sprinkles on top in a Heart container! 

Kindergarten Awards Ceremony

Kylee's Kindergarten Awards Ceremony was this week.  They don't do the whole cap and gown graduation like some schools do.  I wish they did, but its probably a good thing.  Less emotional this way!  She received a medal for Citizenship and Readers are Leaders!  Afterwards, we had her Year End Class Party.  We served the kids Brownie Blitz's and they loved them!

ACES Day

Kylee had ACES Day at school last week.  It was three hours of non stop exercise.  They were worn out by the time it was over!
